J.M. Johnson, 83, of Lono went home to be with the Lord on May 16, 2015. J.M. was born February 17, 1932 in Malvern to Pat and Gladys (Eason) Johnson. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was the leader of the singing and a member of L’Eau Fraiz Methodist Church. He loved the outdoors and he could often be found fishing, hunting, or taking care of his cows. J.M. loved his little buddy, his grandson, Brent and he was always building birdhouses and other things for him. He was a very good papaw who was so nice and he will be deeply missed by his family.
J.M. is predeceased by his parents; and two brothers, R.V. Johnson and Harold Johnson.
J.M. is survived by his wife of 62 years, Peggy Johnson of Lono; son, Mitchell (Kerrie) Johnson of Lono; grandson, Brent Mitchell Johnson of Lono; brother, David (Janice) Johnson of OR; sister, Ozell Johnson of Malvern; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 18, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Atkinson Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services will be held at Lono Cemetery on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at 10:00 AM with Bro. David Smith officiating.
Pallbearers will be Brent Johnson, Mike Johnson, Mark Johnson, Blake Pennington, Chris Nelson, Trent Medlin, Doug Medlin, Mitchell Teague and William Earls.
